VICE PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
This position provides leadership and directs the activities of the Accounting, Finance and Compliance/Risk Management functions, including directing a full range of financial activities of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Directs the Accounting and Finance departments in developing and achieving goals and objectives that support the goals and objections of the credit union.
• Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures relating to financial management, budget, and accounting.  Aids the Chief Financial Officer in formulating and administering economic strategies, objectives and policies.
• Directs preparation and evaluation of budgets, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.  Also monitors and reports on the performance of the credit union in relation to the Board approved budget.
• Directs the maintenance of the financial records of the credit union to comply with policy, regulations and GAAP.  Ensures timely, complete and accurate financial, statistical and accounting records of the credit union.
• Directs tax and regulatory reporting for the credit union that is timely and accurate.
• Directs the preparation of financial reports and analysis, including ALM analysis, which summarize and forecast credit union financial performance.  Appraises the credit union’s financial position and makes reports and recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team.
• Directs, formulates and executes the credit union’s investment activities as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization.  Directs safekeeping, control and accounting for assets and securities.  Manages the risk of the credit union’s investment portfolio.
• Establishes and maintains relations with financial institutions and the investment community.
• Facilitates internal and external audits and examinations of the credit union, including working with the Chief Financial Officer as a liaison to the Supervisory/Audit Committee.
• Directs the credit union compliance program to ensure credit union compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.  This includes the oversight of a compliance review program, research on compliance related issues for credit union management and staff, and monitoring of new/changes to laws, rules and regulations that may impact the credit union.
• Develops and maintains an enterprise risk management process designed to identify, assess, monitor and respond to potential risks that may affect the credit union, so those risks are managed within the credit union’s risk appetite.
• Directs operational procedures in Finance, Accounting and Compliance/Risk Management to ensure high levels of service quality both internally and to members, obtain optimum efficiency, control costs, maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure effective internal controls. Assures that credit union policy is followed.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILIITES:

The Vice President of Finance is the direct supervisor of the Accounting Manager and Finance Manager.  The Vice President of Finance is responsible for all activities within the Accounting, Finance and Compliance functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA
• Five (05) years of management level accounting or public accounting experience
• Financial institution experience
• Foresight, analytical ability, systematic and strong organizational and project management skills
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience with generally accepted accounting principles, bookkeeping, and accounts payable and receivable
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, analytics, ALM, investing and cash management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of credit union rules, regulations and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret financial reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills desired

VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES - CHERRY CREEK
As a member of the Officer Leadership Team, this position will lead, manage and direct the development and implementation of  strategies, polices, procedures and programs for HR initiatives including recruitment, employee relations, leadership development, performance management, talent management, succession planning, career development and compensation/incentive and benefits plans.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Leverage the “credit union difference” to make Westerra Credit Union an Employer of Choice.
• Lead the organizational culture shift to align with the organization’s mission, vision and values.
• Develop a framework with tools and resources to ensure consistent Talent Management throughout the organization.  This includes, but is not limited to:
     o Taking a strategic and proactive approach to Talent Acquisition and Retention by enhancing the onboarding process through success profiles and recruiting strategy.
     o Lead and manage the Leadership Development Program.
     o Maintain a performance-driven review process by developing a performance goal setting and measurement system.
     o Proactive Compensation and Benefits planning.
     o Create an active organizational Succession Planning and Career Development process by creating a pipeline of internal talent (talent-on-demand framework).
• Strategically lead a solid HR Group to be viewed as a trusted advisor, who is proactive in partnering with business units to achieve Westerra’s goals and objectives.
• Manage the human resources function of the credit union by directing and implementing programs which support the Strategic Plan.
• Advise and train management and staff on all areas of employee relations, organizational development, compensation, recruiting and other related areas, while maintaining a confidential environment.

OTHER TASKS PERFORMED:

• Direct credit union recruiting efforts including the selection of recruiting resources, developing hiring criteria, and identifying qualified potential candidates within legal guidelines to insure a culturally diverse workforce.
• Provide monthly human resource metrics to track human resource effectiveness.
• Manages staff in support of Human Resources activities.
• Direct the payroll and timekeeping function.
• Develop and maintain Human Resources policies and procedures which are clearly communicated and administered within the credit union and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Vice President of Human Resources is the direct supervisor of three full time human resources staff and the human resources function.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field highly preferred
• Ten plus years of broad-based Human Resources experience and knowledge
• Five years of management experience
• Three years employment and compliance administration preferred
• Breadth of HR knowledge and experience  in some or all facets of leadership development, performance management, talent management, succession planning, career development and compensation/incentive and Human Resource Information Systems.

TELLERS – CHERRY CREEK, CENTENNIAL AND STAPLETON
This position is responsible for processing member (and shared branch) account requests including deposits, cash withdrawals, transfers, teller checks, cashier’s checks, loan payments, account balances, loan advances, and account history.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Maintains cash controls and balances drawer daily.
• Prepares daily teller work to ensure accurate posting of transactions.
• Assists members with basic account reconciliation and problem resolution.
• Provides information to members about credit union products and services, including savings options, rates, available loans, and convenience services.
• Performs all duties in accordance with department and credit union policies and procedures, and answers members’ questions about them.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Consistently demonstrates credit union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.
• Actively works to assist the branch to reach its goals and participates fully in branch and credit union sales tactics.
• Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Westerra Credit Union in all dealings with employees, members and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Previous credit union or financial institution experience
• Cash handling experience

FINANCIAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE - LOWRY
This position provides superior member service to Credit Union members, including opening and closing accounts, making corrections to accounts and reconciling Credit Union statements via the telephone.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Processes member financial requests including establishing new member relationships; online banking, eStatement and bill pay set-ups; research requests; stop payments; wire transfers and monetary transactions.
• Identifies the financial needs of new and existing members through open-ended interviewing techniques and utilizes tools (e.g. the credit bureau) to identify appropriate products and services for each member.  Presents appropriate features and benefits, and explains Westerra products and services to meet identified needs.  Asks for action and closes or refers (“Cross-sells”).
• Performs all duties in accordance with department and credit union policies and procedures.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
• Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results.
• Consistently demonstrates credit union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.
• Actively works to assist the branch to reach its goals and participates fully in branch and credit union sales tactics.
• Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Westerra Credit Union in all dealings with employees, members and others.

FINANCIAL SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE I – CHERRY CREEK and AURORA CITY PLACE BRANCHES:
This position is responsible for processing member financial requests including establishing new member relationships; online banking, eStatement and bill pay set-ups; research requests; stop payments; notary services; wire transfers and monetary transactions. This position will also identify the financial needs of new and existing members through open-ended interviewing techniques and utilizes tools (e.g. the credit bureau) to identify appropriate products and services for each member. Presents appropriate features and benefits, and explains Westerra products and services to meet identified needs. Asks for action and closes or refers (“Cross-sells”).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Performs all duties in accordance with department and credit union policies and procedures.
• Collects required documentation and signatures from members to comply with all laws and regulations.
• Processes consumer loan requests.
• Closes consumer loans with documents prepared by others.
• Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
• Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results.
• Consistently demonstrates credit union service standards, providing a level of service that is recognized by members as exceptional.
• Actively works to assist the branch to reach its goals and participates fully in branch and credit union sales tactics.
• Performs tasks to support branch operations, including teller, branch opening and closing, vault management, security and maintenance.
• Demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Westerra Credit Union in all dealings with employees, members and others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Previous credit union or financial institution experience
• Must be sales focused and have sales aptitude
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
